Keyboarding and Typing Curricula References

Each Australian State and Territory maintains it own department of education and is responsible for its own curriculum. Most fulfil this requirement by referring to the ACARA administered Australian Curriculum. NSW and Victoria use the Australian Curriculum as a base and then overlay their own structures on top of it.

Advanced Keyboarding Achievement Standards HwK1-HwK8

In 2018 ACARA defined new Achievement Standards within the Literacy Progression. The Standards relate to the Writing Element and specifically the Handwriting and Keyboarding Sub Element – (Previously Handwriting). The Achievement Standards are HwK1, HwK2, HwK3, HwK4, HwK5, HwK6, HwK7, HwK8. All Australian schools are required to meet these Achievement Standards.
